Israeli citizens living abroad, whose marital status has changed following marriage, divorce or widowhood.
A change of name comes into force only after it has been approved by the Population and Immigration Authority. Following the approval, an updated passport may be issued by the mission where the notice was submitted.
An updated ID card will be issued by the Population and Immigration Authority in Israel only.
The applicant for the service must appear in person at the mission.
The applicant must complete the notice of choice of name and the notice of change in marital status (marriage, divorce, widowhood) and bring it in person to an Israeli mission in the country where he lives

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.
Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.
Please note that it is a must to bring an original certificate which is translated and notarized with 2 apostilles. If a spouse is not Israeli citizen, to register a marriage it is needed to bring official notarized letter with 2 apostilles staying spouse's status before a marriage.
