La ministra de Ciencia y Tecnología del Estado de Israel, realizó una visita a Guatemala para desarrollar diversas reuniónes de trabajo y tener el acercamiento para iniciar a trabajar temas de cooperación con Guatemala en el campo de la innovación y tecnología.
The Minister of Science and Technology of the Government of the State of Israel, Gila Gamliel, visited the Legislative Body to hold a meeting with the Foreign Relations Committee led by Deputy Lucrecia Samayoa, and with members of the Guatemala-Israel Parliamentary Friendship League chaired by Deputy Fidel Reyes Lee and other deputies from different political parties.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Israel to Guatemala, Yiftah Curiel, representatives of the Jewish Community in Guatemala, and representatives of the Israel Allies Foundation.
A minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims of the terrorist acts by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The Israeli minister thanked the parliamentarians for their valuable friendship and solidarity during the difficult times faced by the State of Israel. In addition to emphasizing the importance of commemorating the National Day of Friendship between the two countries, established by decree 12-2018, the Israeli official also highlighted Israel's contribution in the fields of science and technology, expressing readiness to collaborate with Guatemala and initiate work on topics beneficial to the population.
