Tomer Bar-Lavi
Tomer Started his mission at the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ethiopia in August 2023 and is currently the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Israel to Ethiopia, Burundi and the African Union.
Prior to this assignment, he was stationed at Headquarters in Jerusalem in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Africa Division, and prior to that in the Middle East Division. Tomer's previous positions include working as a parliamentary advisor at the Israeli Knesset, an international sales expert at an Israeli global high-tech company, and a fundraising and external relations director for Israeli NGO's in the fields of public diplomacy and national heritage. Tomer also worked for Israel's Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
He holds an MA Degree in Public Policy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a BA in International Affairs from the George Washington University.
