Iran destabilises the whole region
Ambassador of Israel in Nicosia Oren Anolik accused Iran that it destabilises the whole region both directly and through its proxies and called on the international community to stop Iran and remove its dangerous capabilities. At the same time he reiterated that, Israel has the right to defend itself and its citizens.
In a statement to CNA, Anolik said that last night Israel "faced a severe and unprecedented attack by Iran with almost 400 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs fired by Iran and by its proxies towards Israel."
The Israeli Ambassador noted that thanks to the international cooperation and to the technologies Israel has the country was able to spot these attacks and intercept almost 100% of those missiles, indicating that if they would not be successful, they would face now a much more difficult situation.
“We are ready for every development” he said, noting that Iran bares the responsibility for this attack and its consequences and that Israel has the right and actually the obligation to defend itself and its citizens.
“And we will hurt those who are trying to hurt us,” he said, adding that "Iran destabilises the situation in the region and globally, directly and through its proxies."
“They have been threatening to wipe out Israel off the map for many years. We know how to defend ourselves; we are not alone; we have friends with us and the international community knows or at least should know that they must stop Iran,” the Israeli Ambassador stressed.
Anolik said that “this regime with its dangerous capabilities both the ones already developed and the ones it tries to develop, must be stopped, and those capabilities must be taken away from them”.
“We believe that the world sees and understands what we are facing and that this is a danger not just for Israel but for the whole region and the whole world,” he added.
