Amir Rockman
Amir Rockman has been posted as the deputy chief of mission since July of 2022 and this is his first international mission for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Amir holds a bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The son of a scientist and tour guide, Amir grew up in Jerusalem and spent his childhood touring Israel and the world with his parents. Between the years 1999 and 2005, Amir served in the Israeli Navy as a Capitan of a Dabur class patrol boat protecting the southern border of Israel. Prior to joining the foreign service, Amir worked for 15 years in the travel industry in Israel and the region, and was one of Israel’s leading experts in adventure travel.
Amir is married, has 3 children, is an avid cyclist, and loves traveling around Costa Rica.
