Donation to synergies africaines

The embassy of Israel in Cameroon was proud to donate equipment to Synergies Africaines of Mrs. Chantal Biya, Cameroon's First Lady, and founder of the African organization. The aim of the organization is to improve people's health and well-being, and Israel’s embassy clearly understands this vision, which is why it has decided to make a donation to this institution. The donation, valued at 20,000 dollars (over 12 million francs), includes numerous cutting-edge technologies by the most advanced Israeli companies in the world:

  • A solar photovoltaic system with six solar panels and accessories, developed by the Israeli BLUE POWER Energy. The company is well represented in Cameroon and the technology well appreciated.
  • a biodigester for managing and transforming organic waste into biogas, developed by the Israeli HOMEBIOGAS, a leading company in the waste management systems in the world. Many institutions such as government high schools has benefited from this technology as part of the Initiative ‘‘Clean Schools’’ by the Ministry of Secondary Education. The Company is also well represented in Cameroon.
  • and four water filtration and treatment kits produced by the Israeli NUF Filtration. This groundbreaking technology makes it possible to treat and purify water instantly, thereby considerably reducing water-borne diseases. The Israeli Embassy in Cameroon had already handed over ten of these kits to the Ministry of Health to support the Government of Cameroon in the fight against cholera in 2018.

For Professor Pierre Joseph Fouda, Director of the HCY, this gesture of support came at just the right time. The hospital that is benefiting from the donation, has real needs in terms of water and electricity. Founded in 1931, this health facility suffers from electricity, water and sanitation problems on a daily basis, even though it treats over 200,000 patients a year, including 19,000 in emergency cases. "This photovoltaic solar system will ensure the safety of the blood bank's equipment and reduce costs, thereby improving patient care. The biodigester will help to clean up our environment and produce fertilizer. ‘‘I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Israeli ambassador to Cameroon and of course to the First Lady of Cameroon, Mrs. Chantal Biya, for this important donation", said Prof. Pierre Joseph Fouda.

Jean Stephane Biatcha, Executive Secretary of Synergies Africaines, thanked H.E. Amnon Kalmar, Israel's ambassador to Cameroon, and his team for this generous and useful initiative. "Mr. Ambassador, you have only been in Cameroon for a few months, but you are already making your mark’’. For him, this ceremony is an expression of the active solidarity of the international community, which has always believed in and supported the vision of Mrs. Biya's humanitarian project. "Yes, it is by working in synergy with all the stakeholders that we will be able to work effectively to improve the living conditions of the people of the African continent", said Jean Stephane Biatcha.

Synergies Africaines and the State of Israel have enjoyed excellent relations since 2011, reflecting the rich and fruitful cooperation between the two friendly countries. The Israeli diplomat welcomed and encouraged this cooperation, and pledged to continue and intensify it.
