Ambassador Sfari met with Mayor Kotsev and visited universities in the city
Ambassador Yossi Levi Sfari paid his first visit to Varna, where he had a productive meeting with the city’s mayor, Blagomir Kocev. The two discussed topics such as cultural life, infrastructure development, and the interest of Israeli tourists in the municipality of Varna.
A key focus of the discussions was the water supply and sewage infrastructure and water management, where Israel is a leader with innovative solutions.
Ambassador Sfari expressed his satisfaction with the visit and emphasized the importance of Varna as a key tourist destination for Israeli citizens. He noted that the tourist exchange includes tens of thousands of visitors annually.
After the meeting, the ambassador and the mayor laid flowers at the Monument of Gratitude for the Salvation of Bulgarian Jews during World War II.
The visit continued with a tour of the State Opera Varna, where he met with the director Daniela Dimova to discuss opportunities for joint cultural initiatives and the exchange of experiences between cultural institutions in Israel and Varna.
At the University of Economics - Varna, the ambassador was warmly welcomed by Rector Prof. Evgeni Stanimirov. They discussed opportunities for student exchanges and joint projects that could foster innovation and educational exchange between the two countries.
During his visit, Ambassador Sfari was accompanied by Mr. Roni Goldberg, responsible for cultural and educational affairs at the Embassy.
