Israeli Export Institute and 6 Israeli companies attended the event
Just a week after the successful BeyondH20 seminar, the Embassy of the State of Israel held another event within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Water signed in 2023 between the State of Israel and the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Embassy, in partnership with the Israel Export Institute and the Municipality of Shumen, organized a special online meeting between Israeli water sector companies and municipal experts. During the event, solutions and best practices from Israel were presented, aimed at supporting the sustainable management of water resources in Bulgaria.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Shumen Municipality, Prof. Hristo Hristov, the Deputy Mayor for European Policies, Ecology, and Tourism, Daniela Ruseva, the Deputy Mayor for Construction and Development, Andrean Vanyov, as well as representatives from "Water Supply and Sewerage - Shumen" Ltd., municipal councilors, and experts.
On the Israeli side, the participants included Ms. Raphaele Moog, Director of the Water Technologies Division at the Israel Export Institute, Mr. Viktor Darov from the Trade and Economic Department of the Embassy of Israel in Bulgaria, and representatives from the Israeli companies CuraPipe, Aquestia, Palgey Maim, DatastreamIOT, RealiteQ, and ClimateEyes.
Systems for control and management, satellite monitoring of water resources, technologies for purifying water bodies with nanobubbles, and other solutions to reduce water losses were presented.
The Mayor of Shumen told the media that the major issue facing the municipality and its residents is in the water sector and the sustainable supply of drinking water for its inhabitants.
"There are many innovative solutions that address our problems—water losses and water quality. These technologies provide an opportunity to reduce losses by up to 10%. We will do everything possible to implement these technologies here," said Mr. Hristov.
He emphasized that all institutions directly related to the water sector were invited to the meeting. Prof. Hristov also stated that the Municipality of Shumen will invite representatives of companies presenting innovative solutions during the online meeting to visit in person and determine whether the technologies can be successfully applied in Bulgaria.
