Request for completions and corrections in the Population Registry and in the Register of Births

This service enables Israeli citizens and residents to submit a request to correct an entry in the Population Registry about themselves and about their minor children below age 18.

Please Note
A request to correct a minor's first name requires the consent of both parents.
In a request to correct a date of birth (day and month), if the applicant does not have the original birth certificate, a declaration regarding the date of birth may be made before the consul.

Correction of date of aliyah: Foreign passport with which aliyah was made
Correction of marital status: Marriage, divorce or death certificate

Who can apply?

The service enables Israeli citizens and residents to submit a request to correct the following details in the Population Registry:
Request to correct a name

  • The name is misspelled or there is an inconsistency between the Hebrew and Latin spelling of the first or last name.
  • The applicant's first or last name in the birth certificate does not match the record in the Population Registry.

Request to correct the place or date of birth (date and month)

Request to correct the year of birth

Request to correct the religion or nationality

How to apply?

A request for completions and corrections in the Population Registry or in the Register of Births should be completed in two copies and brought, together with the required documents, for submission in person at an Israeli mission in the country where the applicant lives.
In a request to correct a minor's first name – both parents' consent is required.

To visit the mission, it is necessary schedule an appointment in advance.
Before coming to the mission, make sure you have with you all the required documents and completed forms.

Information

Security instructions for those arriving at the embassy

Must arrive after prior arrangement only.

You must arrive equipped with an ID card (passport or ID card) with a photo.

It should be taken into account that every visitor will be asked to undergo a security check for him and his belongings.

For security reasons, it will not be possible to bring personal items into the embassy, including handbags, mobile phones and electronic devices.

Do not come to the embassy with large handbags and/or luggage.

Do not come to the embassy with food and/or bottles or drinking vessels.

The embassy's security guidelines will apply to those staying in the consular waiting room.

The instructions of the embassy's security team must be obeyed at all times.
